Biography

Shane Salwasser attended the University of California, Irvine where he earned a bachelor of arts Political Science and minored in Business Management.  He then went onto law school at Drake University Law School where he competed in the American Bar Association’s Arbitration Competition and the Texas Young Lawyers Association’s Mock Trial Competition.  He also honed his oral advocacy skills by competing in the Supreme Court Day Competition.  

Prior to working at Carmoney Law Firm, Shane gained valuable experience clerking at Iowa Defenders, where he worked with clients on criminal defense and family law matters.  He also interned at the Dallas County Attorney’s Office as a student attorney, practicing under the supervision of a licensed attorney.  During his time at the County Attorney’s Office, Shane actively participated in two jury trials, both of which resulted in convictions. Additionally, Shane gained insight into public service through a legal internship at the Iowa Governor’s Office. 

Shane practices a wide variety of civil litigation areas and primarily focuses on insurance defense, underinsured motorist defense, and construction defect cases. He is dedicated to providing personalized care and attention to each case, ensuring that clients receive the highest level of service. Shane is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Iowa. He is also a member of the Iowa State Bar Association.
