Biography

Bryant Hickie went to undergrad at the University of Northern Iowa where he studied political communications with a pre-law minor.  At UNI, Bryant was the president of the UNI Disc Golf Club and was on the executive board of the Mu-Upsilon Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity.  After undergrad, Bryant attended Drake University Law School, where he was a captain of the National Moot Court team, and was a member of the Drake Law Review.  Bryant received recognition for top grades in Torts and Ethics.  He was elected to The National Order of the Barristers, as recognition for his accomplishments in courtroom advocacy—including his work at the Drake Legal Clinic.  Bryant graduated from Drake University Law School with High Honors in 2018. He began working at Carmoney Law Firm that same year and became a partner in 2024.  

Bryant practices in a wide variety of civil litigation areas, with a primary focus on insurance defense litigation, personal injury defense, and construction law. He has experience handling cases of all sizes and complexities—from subrogation matters to complex litigation involving numerous parties.  He has tried nearly a dozen jury trials in the past five years and has defended cases with billions of dollars of claimed damages. Bryant is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Iowa and is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association.
