Jack W. Leverenz is a partner with Carmoney Law Firm, PLLC. He served as a law clerk in the Carmoney law offices until he was hired on as an attorney after graduating from Drake University Law School. Jack has worked in the legal field in both Iowa and Minnesota, and he currently practices law in the federal and state courts of Iowa.
Jack has a wide array of trial experience, having tried cases before juries and the bench, including residential fires, personal injury, wrongful death, property disputes, and workers’ compensation claims. The scope of Jack’s practice spreads across a spectrum of civil litigation and appeals, and includes personal injury and property damage litigation, workers’ compensation defense, construction defect claims, products liability, motor vehicle accidents, intentional torts, business litigation, contract construction and disputes, and family law.
Jack is a graduate of the University of Iowa, and received his juris doctorate with honors from Drake University Law School. He made the Dean’s List all six full-time semesters and was a member of the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law. His Fall 2012 note, entitled Corn Flakes aren’t just for Kellogg’s: A look at Corn Stover and its Effect on Leasing in the Landlord tenant Farmer Relationship, was cited by the Iowa Court of Appeals in Slach v. Heick, 864 N.W.2d 553 (Iowa Ct. App. 2015) (unpublished decision).
Jack is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Polk County Bar Association, Iowa Defense Counsel Association, and the Iowa-Nebraska Chapter of the International Association of Special Investigative Units. He is licensed to practice law in all state and federal courts of Iowa. When he is not serving the people and businesses of Iowa, Jack spends his time with his wife and three children. He has served as a den leader for his children’s Cub Scouts, coached youth basketball, and always enjoys his summertime week away with his family at Leech Lake in Northern Minnesota.
